The following descriptions of staff assignments are just an overview to provide you with a general knowledge of what each position does here at Olympic Academy.

Program Director 

  • Responsible for the administration and instructional leadership of Olympic Academy
  • Implements all Olympic Academy policies and procedures
  • Evaluates and provides professional coaching and mentorship to staff

Program Coordinator 

  • Delivers instructional and/or behavioral coaching and mentoring for classroom teachers
  • Supports the Program Director’s implementation of Olympic Academy policies and procedures
  • Provides leadership in school improvement initiatives, assists with student problem-solving processes, and implements selected discipline processes

Lead Teacher – Special Education

  • Provides instruction, individualized programming, services, and support to meet the needs of students enrolled in Olympic Academy
  • Implements behavioral programming aligned with Olympic Academy policies and procedures 
  • Creates and maintains a positive classroom atmosphere and discipline appropriate to the situation for the purpose of increasing student achievement through collaborative problem-solving techniques

Paraprofessional

  • Supports and assists the lead teacher in providing classroom instruction for students enrolled at Olympic Academy
  • Facilitates student academic performance and intervenes when challenges are identified, with the goal of providing support for students enrolled in Olympic Academy
  • Assists students, at the direction of the Lead Teacher, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments as directed for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts

Student Support Specialist 

  • Collaborates with Program Director, Coordinators, and Lead Teachers with gathering data to write Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Analyzes all student behavioral data and collaborates with all staff needed for program structure, maintenance (as needed), and validity
  • Completes projects as assigned by the Program Director

 Administrative Professional 

  • Provides a wide variety of complex secretarial and administrative tasks in order to support professional staff and administrative supervisors
  • Organizes and coordinates office activities and communication
  • Provides assistance and information to ESD 113 staff, other school districts, parents, and vendors.
